With the Grace and Blessings of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Maharaj, JKP has undertaken the establishment and operation of three fully charitable hospitals to serve the medical needs of the surrounding districts. The hospitals are located in Mangarh, Barsana and a third will soon be built in Vrindaban, in Uttar Pradesh state of India.
These hospitals are providing and will continue to provide for many years into the future, quality healthcare, with professionally trained medical staff, utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
In 2003, the Kripalu Chikitsalaya was opened for services with a staff of 12 medical personnel. Today, in order to meet the ever-growing demand for services, the hospital is staffed with 60 full time volunteers who are treating 500 patients a day.
The hospital provides a full range of medical services including:
- doctor’s visits
- cataract removal and general surgery
- immunizations
- diagnostic tests
- emergency services and more.
Anu, a patient of the Kripalu Chikitsalaya said, “If the hospital was not there, then I would not be standing here talking to you now.”
Although India has one of the fastest growing economies in the world, it is facing a health crisis of immense proportions. For example, India ranks first in the world for TB cases and is the only country in the world where the incidence of polio is on the rise.
To raise the awareness of the critical need for healthcare services for the economically disadvantaged villagers in India, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, Barsana Dham has launched the A.L.M.S. (Access to Local Medical Services) Initiative.
Through this initiative Barsana Dham is presently providing support for Shree Maharajji’s Divinely inspired charitable hospital projects by raising funds for the completion of the second floor of the Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya, Barsana..
Barsana, India is the descension place of Shree Raseshwari Radha Rani who appeared on this earth 5,000 years ago. Shree Radha, Graced this land with her footprints and stayed in Barsana village for more than one hundred years. For this reason it is one of the holiest places in India.
With the Grace of Shree Maharajji, Swami Prakashanand Saraswati has established Rangeeli Mahal Ashram in Barsana. Located adjacent to the ashram, the first floor of the Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya was opened on January 14, 2007.
Just 3 weeks after opening, the hospital staff was serving 200 patients a day.
When the second floor is complete, the hospital will have 50 beds. The hospital is currently equipped to provide doctor’s visits, radiology & ultrasound exams, laboratory investigations and maintains fully stocked allopathic and homeopathic pharmacies.
All medical services and medications are provided free of charge.
The number of patients is expected to triple in the next year.
To quickly meet the increasing need for services we are scheduled to begin construction on the second floor of the hospital by the end of 2007.
The estimated cost of construction of the second floor, site improvements and equipping the hospital totals 685,000 dollars.
Kripalu Maharaj is providing for the medical needs of thousands of villagers who may otherwise go untreated. By all means, Shree Maharajji is bestowing on the villagers happiness and hope for a healthier future. He has said that without a healthy body, it is difficult to do devotion to God.
Shree Maharajji is also providing for the physical needs of multitudes of poor villagers through feeding programs, girl’s education, distribution of essential items, medical camps, establishing cottage industries for women’s employment and providing support during India’s national disasters.
For the spiritual upliftment of the world, the foundation has been laid for the carved stone Mandir to Kirti Ma, the mother of Radha Rani, at Rangeeli Mahal. The main deity of the Mandir will be Kirti Ma holding baby Radha in her arms. Radha Rani is not depicted in her Bal swaroop or child form anywhere else in the world.
In Vrindaban, Prem Mandir is being built as a monument to the supreme Divine love of Radha Krishn. Built to last for thousands of years, the magnificent ornate marble temple will be a Divine nucleus in Vrindaban, attracting visitors from all over the world. It will be a shining light of bhakti in the world.
Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Maharaj is the form of Divine Grace. He is always Gracing the souls with affinity for Radha Krishn through his Divine presence, his kirtans and his discourses which expound the deepest scriptural truths in simple language.
